Visa

It is very important to understand the information about visas. The reason is that AFRICA ADDICTION can not be held responsible for the client being denied entry to a country. All clients on tour must be in possession of a valid onward/return air ticket or proof of other means of transport enabling the traveler to leave the country in which your overland expedition terminates. Alternatively you must have proof sufficient funds(credit card) enabling you to purchase an air ticket to leave the country. Also remember that some of the tours you enter and exit the country more than one time so check you itinerary and make sure you get a Multiple Entry visa if needed.

“If you want to find out more about visas or not sure about something please email us and we will send you the info you need as soon as possible.”

Accommodation& Camping

Camping- We provide all the camping equipment. The tents are all two-man tents with build in mosquito net. Don’t worry too much about the rain because all of the tents have rain covers (fly sheets). On the Cape-town to Vic falls we will take a brake from the tents and sleep in beds on day 6 and 7(Swakopmund) and day 19(Vic falls).

Accommodation-The price of camping and accommodation tours is not too much of a difference. The reason for that is the places we sleep at is like 1-2 star chalets and lodges. We don’t want you to miss out on the Real African Experience so the only differences between camping and accommodation is that you will sleep in a bed.

Laundry

On the way we find a few Camps where you can do your laundry. Proper washing facilities will you find in Swakopmund, Rundu (day12),Vic falls. A few other camps clothes can be washed by hand or by paying a small fee to the locals and they will washed for you.

Security

Crime happens every where in the world so we always keep that in mind. Tourists are normally the target because they don’t know the countries very well. The camps we visit have all good safety records. On board of the truck we have a safe to keep your important files for you (passport, flight ticket, extra money etc.

Water

Africa is most of the time very hot. Dehydration on tour can be a serious situation if you don’t drink enough water. We look at 2-3 litres of water per person per day. Most of the camps/hotels we visit have drinkable water. Almost every day we stop at shops where mineral water can be bought. We have a water tank on board but its only for emergency use.

Try not to book any flights or transit on day of arrival at destination, the day of arrival at destination is not always to schedule because of any kind of problem may fall on our way. Finish all onwards travel before tour start or let us know because we can arrange flights or transport for you at a better price.

It’s normally from the Sun, Water and anti-Malarial tablets. Most of the people don’t get ill on trips but some takes about 2/3 days to get use to the African Conditions.

Malaria

Malaria can be a very serious problem if you don’t give attention to the information given and what the guide will tell you on tour.Dont worry to much as long as you have malaria pills and mosquitoes repellent .By wearing long pants and sleeves after sun set will also prevent malaria. Mosquitoes are normally active in the summer months after the first big rains (December to April). You find mosquitoes also during the winter months but this is if you visit rivers and dams. Malaria prophylactics do not prevent Malaria, but do treat it if you come down with the disease. They also prevent you from getting seriously ill. It is not true that Malaria cannot be cured. There are two broad malaria prophylaxis choices: Daily tablets:Chloroquine or Doxycycline and Paludrine combination pills. Weekly tablets: Larium, Mefliam, Malarine, Mefloquine. You may have heard negative reports about Laruim and the side effects. However, it is 95% effective while the daily tablets are only 30% effective. Please consult your doctor before selecting your prophylaxis

WE WILL SEND YOU MORE INFO ON MALARI TABLETS WHEN YOU BOOKED THE TRIP. www.travelclinic.co.za

Alcohol & Drugs

After a long day its nice to sit around a campfire, open up a beer and share the memories of the day. Remember that this is not a drinking tour but alcohol plays a big part on holidays and in Africa. Most of the places we visit have nice bars. Please drink Responsibly. I don’t think you want to spend time in Jail (especially not a African Jail). We cross lots of borders on some of the tours so leave all you illegal drugs at home.

AFRICA ADDICTION will not be held responsible if they find any Drugs on you or with you.

No Refund to a person in a situation like this.
